Norfolk and West Haldimand general hospitals will soon have a new vice president of finance and chief financial officer.

Dan Hill, who has spent the last 10 years as a CFO at rural community hospitals including Dunnville’s Haldimand War Memorial Hospital, will assume his new post April 1.

“We are happy to welcome Dan to our hospital and our senior management team,” said President and CEO Lucy Bonanno. “We are committed to recruiting the highest quality staff as part of our mandate to deliver exceptional care for our patients.”

Hill’s responsibilities will include budget management, directing financing strategies, analysis and forecasting at the two hospitals located in Simcoe and Hagersville.

Hill, a chartered professional accountant, has an extensive background in the healthcare sector including work as a manager of revenue for a medical imaging software company. He is a board member of Road to Recovery Haldimand, and active with the Haldimand Health Ontario Health Team.

He said he is keen to meet the people at the two hospitals and the Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home.

“What really thrills me is how staff, the community, and volunteers rally around their hospitals,” Hill stated. “That’s what gives me my energy. When I see how hard people in their communities work and support their hospitals, that is the fuel that makes me want to give back.”

Bonanno said Hill’s experience “will be invaluable as we continue to move forward and look at ways to improve the patient experience.”
